Instructions for applying vinyl art to walls 1. Clean your wall surface
Be sure that your surface is smooth, dry and free of dust and dirt. Vinyl can be applied to walls, wood, glass, concrete, metal, or any smooth, dry surface. The vinyl is removable but cannot be repositioned or reused. Do NOT apply to freshly painted walls. Please wait 3-4 weeks after painting. 2. Prepare the vinyl
Lay each vinyl decal on a flat surface. Press firmly over the entire decal with the edge of a credit card or similar object. You are reactivating the bond between the vinyl and the transfer tape. 3. Plan your layout (IF your design is a larger decal – we recommend that you take a moment and google “Applying Larger Wall Decals. There are many helpful and fast tutorials that will make your application process quick and simple. Our favorite application method is called “The Tape Technique” We find this to be most helpful)
Arrange your vinyl on your surface using masking tape (top edge only), do not remove the white backing until you are happy with your layout. 4. Apply the vinyl
Flip the vinyl up starting from any corner, slowly peel the white backing away from the transfer tape, the vinyl should be sticking to the transfer tape. If some of the vinyl remains stuck to the white backing, STOP. Rub the vinyl on that area and slowly continue peeling until the backing is completely removed. As you lower the vinyl to your surface carefully move your hand across the vinyl starting at the top center and working your way out to the edges and bottom. With your finger or a credit card, finish the application by rubbing over the vinyl to secure it to your surface and remove any air bubbles. Once you have done this, carefully remove the transfer tape, making sure the vinyl is sticking to your surface and not to the transfer tape. *******Removal of vinyl wall decals*******
The key with vinyl wall sticker removal is to keep the paint intact underneath. If you pull too quickly the sticker may tear and could possibly take some paint with it too.
USE A HAIRDRYER (on a warm setting) to slowly heat the corner, then once it starts getting easier to peel, apply heat to the next area as you slowly remove the sticker. Remain Patient!
Usually with the heat removal there isn’t any residue but if there is try soapy water but if this doesn’t remove it then use an adhesive remover. (Always try a small area first to test it and use sparingly).
Please note: Wallapalooza is not responsible for any damage caused by applying or removing vinyl from any surface. Apply vinyl graphics at your own risk.
**Warning** CHOKING HAZARD – keep out of reach of children. Children may be able to peel small pieces of vinyl off the wall. Do not hang in areas where small children are able to reach.
